Justin and Derek

This is my last weekend of North Shore riding before the start of season. What better way to finish up than with two of my team mates (and friends) Justin Brown and Derek Cowell.

Jill and I picked the guys up from the airport yesterday, and after sorting out all the finer details at the Norco Factory, we spent the night showing the boys the highlights of Vancouver. They were amazed by the state of East Van, and we even went for a quick stroll of around Hastings and Main to get a true feel for the place. After we were safely back in the Norco van, we spent the evening sharing drinks downtown at the loose moose.
We got our first chance to ride the Shore this morning. We had a lot of fun, although it was pretty wet up there. The guys had a chance to set up their new bikes and get things dialed in before we head to Sea Otter on Tuesday. Not really looking forward to the 20 hour drive, but I am sure the time will pass quickly with the boy's hilarious bickering!

FLY RACING

I am stoked to announce that I will be racing this season in FLY RACING pants and gloves. This wicked moto-cross company is working on getting their foot in the door of today's DH market. I'll be testing the Fly product all over the world from the deep muddy depths of Wales to the hot dusty mountains of Brazil. I will be sure to let you know how they hold up!

Karate Class

Tonight I took a shot at a different sport. I joined Jill for my first official Karate class. I had a lot of fun and learned some techniques that may one day come in handy.
I woke up this morning with flue like symptoms, so as you can imagine I suffered a litle in class. Presently I'm laid out on the couch with some OJ. Hopfully I'll be feeling all better tomorow.

Day with Friends

Monday Jill and I took advantage of the sun and headed out to the BMX track in Maple Ridge for an hour or so. The track was a little rough with all the recent rain. Now that it is dried up it is a little rutted and kind of rocky. So, we decided to head back to Vancouver, round up some friends and head through the city to Stanley Park for a leisurely afternoon ride. The ride was very chilled out and it was cool to have a chance to catch up with everyone. We even managed to pull Lisa Sher out of her bedroom/office to enjoy a touch of daylight. Can't think of any better way to spend a Monday afternoon than dodging tourists on Vancouver's beautiful Seawall. Cole and I even fought off some kids for some quality swing time at the local playground. Thanks for a great day guys! Special thanks to the tourist that took this photo for us. Sorry...I didn't catch your name.

Bikes on the Drive

Saturday morning we headed up to Simon Fraser Uni where Norco guys had the team truck and demo fleet out for Bikes on the Drive (local bike shop). The day went well and I couldn't believe how many people were out for it. I arrived around 11:30am and the car park was PACKED with people, bikes, dogs and a unique car that a bunch of local trials guys brought out to play with. This rare beauty had a concave roof, a dent in every panel and quite the paint job. I think the sounds system was quite possibly worth more than the car!

I finally got to break my new Norco 4xxxx out of the box and put it together at the truck. I had a couple of people ask if they could take it for a demo ride. Unfortunately for them, the answer was Nope!
