World Cup #6

I WON! I just finished racing the last round of the World Cup 4X here in Schladming and I finally did it! I won a World Cup 4X. I was in second behind Tara Llanes coming into the final corner on the track and I am not really sure what happened. I drifted the corner perfectly and had enough speed at the end of it to put me in front. The win was enough to bump me up to 5th overall too, so 2 podiums this weekend! I am pretty excited about it. It was just an honour to be on the overall podium as well with my long time friends Katrina Miller and Tara Llanes as this was their final seasons. I will miss them both next year!

The DH didn't go quite as smoothly. I have definately eaten more than my share of dirt this season! I think all the excitement from my win totally tired me out. By DH qualification time I was exhausted and I rode like crap to an 11th place qualifying time. I got it together a bit more for my race run and was on course to be top 5. But I lost control in one of the corners and ended up spending time in the mud making sure all of my ribs were in order before I could keep riding. I finished in a very exhausted 11th place. I managed to finish the DH season in 9th place and I am more than happy to report that I have no major injuries, regardless of the many hard crashes I have had throughout this season!
I am now looking forward to a few weeks of relaxation before closing out the season completely at Interbike in Vegas

Jeep #3

I have been so sick since the World Champs and I am surprised my head didn't explode on the flight over to Colorado for this weekend's Jeep Series race. I have been doing my best to conserve energy and fight this cold but there is no rest for the wicked so I've been racing instead! Qualifying went better than expected. I pulled out a 5th place qualifying result which lined me up against Anneke Beerten in the quarter finals. I did what my lungs could do but Anneke was definately the faster rider this weekend and left me to enjoy 5th place and a massive finish line coughing fit! Katrina Miller pulled out a good race though. She won! It was good to see her smiling and hucking some big jumps again. Off to World Cup finals next weekend in Schladming, Austria. Let's hope my body decides to pull it together for the last event of the year!
