World Cup Win video

Check out this new video! It is the top part of the 4X race final in Schladming. I managed to win the race in the end (although it doesn't show the end). You can see most of the key moves made in the race though that led to me eventually crossing the line ahead of Tara Llanes.

Tara Llanes is in blue and leads most of the race
I am in red
Anneke Beerten is in Red as well (goes off the track early on)
Joey Gough is the other rider

Enjoy! The video is compliments of Jill Kintner (www.jillkintner.com)

UK Down Town Race Victory

Bridgnorth, Shropshire didn't know what hit it today as the DH and 4X world showed up to race the 1st ever Down Town street race in the UK. The event was pretty cool for a first shot. There were hundreds of spectators lining the tiny alleyways- some were even perched high on the walls above- as the race twisted and turned through the narrow streets. Locals seemed fairly supportive too as most crowded 2nd floor windows to watch the action below. The local shops were stoked as well recieving more business than expected on a Sunday afternoon!

(Click on X to view podium photo) Racing the track was a lot of fun, although the course was somewhat short. The organizers did a great job with the hill they had and there were plenty of smiling faces at the finish. However practice was a bit of a struggle. Most people only got in two practice runs due to the sheer number of riders (200) on the short track. Elite racing was as exciting as ever! Gee Atherton surprised no one winning the event and setting the fastest time. I won Elite Women, only 3 seconds back from Gee. My time was good enough for 12th in Elite men and 22nd overall! Coming in quick behind me was Rachel Atherton (less than a second back) and Helen Gaskell about 1.2 sec. behind me in 3rd. All-in-all it was a great event and an awesome way to finish out a successful season!

Go-Karts

Preparation has already started for 2007. We have been out scouring the country looking for a suitable race van for next season. We drove all the way to Scotland today, but no joy. So, to cheers us up after a long drive, the whole family took off to the local go-kart track (Rednal Kart Racing, Shropshire). My brother and I have been racing each other hard since we were kids and today was no different. We picked up right where we left off - leaning on each other and constantly switching it up for the lead. At the end though my brother got the better of me (just barely) setting the fastest lap time of the day. I was .2 sec behind him, which was good enough not only for the silver but to set the fastest EVER female lap time on the track!
We are off to Bridgnorth tomorrow for the Street Race. Should be good times. I'll let you know.

Interbike

Just got back from interbike in Vegas. Such a wicked event. It is always great to have a chance to chat to the sponsors and fans away from the busy race scene. The week is always so busy, but worth every second of it. While I was there I had a chance to check out the new Norco Team DH....sweet bike! I did a quick review of it for Pinkbike if you really want to check it out. The Marzocchi 888 for next year looks pretty cool as well. I can't wait to have their new air fork on my bike. It was also great to catch up with the Fender boys. Those guys are always so much fun.

Jay Hoots, Ryan Leech and myself even found time earlier in the week for some filming with Ride Guide. The trails at the dirt demo were loads of fun so I am sure the TV footage will be pretty cool to watch. There are photos to come, but I just flew into the UK and need to get over the jetlag first.
