Van is Sprayed!!!

Finally....the van is sprayed! Such a huge relief after weeks of prep for it. The photos are still top secret, but I can say that Emptea (www.kolorblindesignz.com) did an awesome job on it. It looks incredible!

1st Race of 2007

Jaymie, Jill, Howard and I piled in the family camper van and headed up to Innerleithan, Scotland for the 1st race of 2007. Since our team bikes had not yet arrived, I spent a few hours in the garage before we left building up make-shift DH rigs for Jaymie and I. I raced my Norco 4XXXX while Jaymie raced my converted Norco EXC cross country bike! I changed out a few parts for her to make it as DH ready as possible and she loved it! The weekend was great. We had a blast pinning the course with our tiny bikes. It was a good laugh. I even got a few runs in with fellow World Cup rider, Helen Gaskell and we put my 4X to the test. It was unfortunate that I flatted in my race run (front flat at that and only 20 seconds out of the start gate) since I think Helen and I would have been pretty close. I know we were both curious to see which bike/rider combo would have taken the win.
I was stoked with Jaymie this weekend. She put in a solid effort in her race run and finished ahead of me in 2nd place. Nice work Jaymie!

Racing Starts Again!

Looks like it is that time of year again. I just signed on for the 1st race of 2007. ProBikeSport.com is having a race up at Innerleithan, Scotland. Jaymie, Jill and I are going to take off up there and shake some of the winter rust off. Should be great racing! Tracy Moseley will be there, along with Helen Gaskell. In the men's I even noticed that former World Champion Fabien Barel will be racing! Can't wait to get up there.
We have been hard at work trying to get the team all sorted out in time for the first race. Tommy (the race van) has been a daily project, but he is nearing completion. And we have sorted out nearly all of the 2007 sponsors. Just waiting on a few last minute deliveries and we should be set!
I have also been doing a bit of night riding lately. Something a little different to rack up a few training miles. One of my good friends, Howard (guy in the photo), talked me into it the other day and I've been loving it!
